Gérald Lampaert

Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer

BIOGRAPHY OF AN UNCONVENTIONAL ENTREPRENEUR

Founder, President, and CEO of Luxury Communication in Paris in 2002, Gérald Lampaert possesses vast experience in various sectors of the high-end services industry: communication, event management, information technology, and luxury hospitality. Half Belgian, half Swiss, and born in the early 1970s in Brussels, Gérald grew up in an international environment, first learning several languages, and then living and working in several countries around the world.

Having spent the majority of his career in hotels and in the conference and event industry, Gérald quickly understood that the key success factors in his daily operations are customer orientation, service excellence, the perfection of craftsmanship in creating premium products and services, and meticulous attention to detail, much like a jeweler when creating a gem.

Gérald’s career began in 1992 with the Walt Disney Company, where he held various positions across hotel operations, sales, marketing, organizing large conferences, and digital information management. It was here that he learned the importance of corporate culture, a clear vision, quality structures, strict operational standards, and a focus on delivering extraordinary results. He also collaborated with A&L Associates, based in Florida, to manage mystery guest visits for Hard Rock Café Europe. Seven years later, Gérald continued his career at the Imperial Palace on the shores of Lake Annecy, and by the end of 2000, he returned to Paris, taking on the position of Regional Director for Continental Europe at Millennium & Copthorne Hotels for nearly three years.

In 2002, Gérald Lampaert founded Luxury Communication at 13 Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, in the prestigious 1st arrondissement of Paris, just steps away from the Louvre Museum. From the outset, Gérald established himself as a key player in organizing events for some of the most prestigious luxury brands in Paris. However, he quickly realized that to thrive in the exclusive world of luxury, fashion, and jewelry, he needed to be closer to these key players and new clients. He decided to relocate his business to the heart of this privileged circle: 16 Place Vendôme, surrounded by the world’s most renowned jewelers and luxury creators.

With this strategic move, Gérald rebranded his company to Vendôme Luxury Hospitality, perfectly aligning the company’s name with its prestigious new address. This change embodied his ambition to offer communication and event management services that meet the high standards of the luxury sector and premium hospitality.

A decade later, for logistical reasons, he moved his headquarters to 10 Place Vendôme, another prestigious location, from which he continued to manage his European operations in luxury hospitality and events. At the same time, he held various vice-presidency and strategic advisory roles for international groups with headquarters in New York and Houston, including Dolce International and Benchmark Hospitality.

In 2015, he relocated to Zurich while continuing to lead Vendôme Hospitality/Luxury Communication in Paris. He took over the direction of LUXCOM, a company operating in the hospitality and events sector. His goal was to develop this business in Switzerland and internationally, a role he is still deeply passionate about today. The owner of the music label Cosmopolitan Records since 2004 (currently on hold), and an innate entrepreneur, Gérald also aimed to fulfill another long-standing dream: to create his own hotel group. He began in September 2017 by conceptualising the DNA of Riva Hospitality – Hotels and Resorts, but in September 2018, he eventually created the Vertu Group’s “ecosystem” : VERTU Hospitality, Hotels and Resorts, with the ambition of bringing innovation into the world of hospitality.

Despite the catastrophic pandemic for the travel industry, Gérald managed to keep his operations moving forward. Today, like an admiral, he leads his group of companies with stability, growth, and serenity.

As for his graphic identity, Gérald shares that he loves colors, but for him, the combination of black and white remains the most chic, neutral, elegant, and luxurious, much like a piece of jewelry created by Coco Chanel!

With many more projects in mind, it’s needless to say that he won’t stop there...
